High Plains District Recognition Dinner

2020 HP District Dinner - March 14th

 

Where: Limon Community Center

477 D Ave, Limon, CO 80828

When: Saturday, March 14th, 12:00 p.m.

The HP committee is looking for nominations of volunteers who you believe should be recognized. Nominate your Scouters and your Scouts for an award. A few of the award descriptions are below.  Send an email to Maria Herndon or Bob Lightbody External Linkwith an explanation why you are nominating the person for the award.  Please provide your nominations by February 28th. 

 

District Chair Award

The District Chair Award is an award available to all the units of the District.  The purpose is to provide a mechanism for each unit to recognize one volunteer a year.

 

Criteria is:

1. The person is a registered Scouter. (Does not matter how long.)

2. The person has provided service to your Unit and/ or the Scouts.

 

 

District Award of Merit

The District Award of Merit is a distinguished award available to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level.

Criteria is:

1. A nominee must be a registered Scouter.

2. A nominee must have rendered noteworthy service to youth in Scouting, outside Scouting, or both.

Note: The nature and value of “noteworthy service to youth” may consist of a single plan or decisions that contributed vitally to the lives of large numbers of youth or it may have been given to a small group over an extended period of time.

3. Consideration must be given to the nominee’s Scouting position and the corresponding opportunity to render outstanding service beyond the expectations of that Scouting position.

4. The nominee’s attitude toward and cooperation with the district and/or council is to be taken into consideration.

5. Nominations cannot be considered for posthumous awards.
