Biography

Colorado Springs is where we now call home! After traveling all over the US and overseas, we can now lay down some roots. I am a proud wife of a retired United States Marine. 20 years of long and dedicated service our family decided to call one place home. We could not be happier here! On recruiting Duty is when we first came across the scouting program. We noticed that the poolees that were driven leaders of their peers were former scouts. Once our first son was old enough we signed him up. We liked what we saw and wanted that for our family!

We are a scouting family to the core! All 3 of our children are in scouting. Our oldest is a First Class, our middle son is a Bear and our youngest is a Tiger and a Daisy scout.  Both my husband and I volunteer at all levels! We believe in this program and its teachings! We are all about our community and teaching our kids Lord Baden Powell’s philosophy, “Leave this world better than you found it.”

I am trained for the following levels of scouting:

Pack, Troop, Venture Crew, District and Council

I have held the following positions over our 5 years in scouting:

Lion Guide, Tiger Den Leader, Wolf Den Leader, Bear Den Leader, Webelos Den Leader, Membership Chair (Pack, Troop, Crew and ScoutRreach), Pack Trainer, Secretary, Awards Chair, District Membership Chair and Unit Commissioner

I have earned the following awards:

Den Leader award, Scouters Training award (Pack and District), International Scouters award, the District Award of Merit and Commissioners Arrowhead

Which makes my next step in scouting even more important. I will be attending Wood badge and only hope that I make my patrol proud!  So much of our life is surrounded by scouting to a point where I even work at the Scout Shop as well. I love helping fellow scouters and scouts on their scouting journey.
