Biography

Cherie has been a volunteer with the BSA since 2009. She has served in numerous positions in both Pack and Troop Committees as well as in every Den Leader position from Tigers through Arrow of Light. She currently serves as Scoutmaster for Troop 77, Long-term Camping Chair for Troop 78, Committee Member for Troop 79, Pikes Peak Council Training Chair, the Jamboree District Training Chair, and the Jamboree District Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner. Cherie is a course graduate of Wood Badge W2-60-15 and a proud owl. She was honored to have served on Wood Badge staff as a Troop Guide and again as a Scribe. Cherie is a 2019 Pikes Peak Council Silver Beaver recipient and member of the Order of the Arrow.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Cherie left the northeast to serve in the United States Army as a Russian cryptologic linguist. After serving almost ten years and reaching the rank of Sergeant First Class and position of Drill Sergeant, Cherie left the service to focus on her family. She recently used her post-9/11 GI Bill and graduated from Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design with highest honors with a degree in Commercial Photography. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in German, and an Associates in Intelligence Operations. She is married to Rick Cayemberg (Scoutmaster for Troop 79), and has two sons, Benjamin (Eagle Scout), and Daniel (Life Scout).
