2016 Camp Card Sale!

The Camp Card Fundraiser is Pikes Peak Council's newest endeavor to help Scouts fund their way to CAMP! The discount vendor cards are sold by Units and Scouts for $5 and commission is 50% ($2.50) for each card sold! The best part is NO RISK SELLING - units can return any unsold cards at the end of the sale. Show and Sells work best so get your unit signed up today to sell Camp Cards and have fun doing it!   

The 2016 Camp Card Sale will have its Kickoff and Informational Meeting on Tuesday, February 23, at 6 p.m. at the Council Office. If you are new to the sale, attending this meeting is a great way to learn some best practices and familiarize yourself with the policies and procedures.

STEP 1:

DESIGNATE A "CAMP CARD CAPTAIN" FROM YOUR UNIT

STEP 2:

REGISTER YOUR UNIT AND REQUEST YOUR QUANTITY OF CARDS!

A unit Camp Card Captain will facilitate the Camp Card sale, this person has a similar role to a Popcorn Kernel, although the Camp Card sale is much simpler. To review the Camp Card Captain position description, click here.

You must register your unit for the sale CLICK HERE TO REGISTER The DEADLINE to receive your GUARANTEED AMOUNT OF CARDS is Thursday, January 29. After that deadline, you can still register for the sale but you will be given 100 cards to start the sale.If you would like to be put on the wait list for more cards, email Jenna at jenna.bentrop@scouting.org

At the end of the Kick-off meeting you can pick up your cards and LET THE SELLING BEGIN!

What has changed for 2016 and what has stayed the same.

What has changed:

1) Pikes Peak Council is now in charge of scheduling Show and Sells for Bass Pro Shops ONLY. To make it fair for all units selling, you will be allowed to choose one slot to sell at Bass Pro. RESERVATIONS FOR BASS PRO SHOPS SHOW AND SELL WILL BEGIN AT 9AM ON MONDAY, JANUARY 5, 2015 BY PHONE ONLY - 719-219-2903.  After two weeks, if there are slots still available you can call Chelsea and reserve one additional slot. You can be on the waitlist for up to 5 slots and will be called as soon as we are alerted to an opening due to a unit cancelling at the last minute.

The slots will be every weekend of the sale starting Friday, February 27 and ending on Sunday April 26.  To view the available slots, click here. Call the Council Office directly to reserve your slot - 719-219-2903.

3) Pikes Peak Council is ordering 35,000 cards to accommodate all requests for cards. This is 15,000 more cards than last year.

4) The expiration date on the card will be March 1, 2016! The card will be valid for a FULL YEAR! (except for Big 5 Sporting Goods, exp is 12/31/2015)

What has stayed the same:

1) The sale is NO RISK - return any unsold cards on or before the deadline with no penalty.

2) Commission is 50%! In 2014, units earned a total of $36,000 in commission from Camp Card sales!

3) Posters will be available to use for your show and sells on a first come, first serve basis. Call the Council office at 719-219-2903 to reserve your poster.

2016 Key Dates:

NOW - February 23, 2016- Register your unit for the sale and request your card amount. Remember that the Camp Card Captain is responsible for registering your unit. Only ONE registration per unit!

NOW-end of sale - Schedule your Show and Sell sales anywhere BUT Bass Pro Shops - start calling BIG R now!

January 5, 2015-January 20, 2015- Reservations for Bass Pro Shops Show and Sell begin at 9am on Monday, January 5. Each unit can request one slot. If slots remain after 2 weeks, units can request ONE additional slot starting January 20 at 9am.Units can request to be put on the waitlist for up to 5 slots.

Thursday, February 26, 2015: Kickoff and Informational Meeting @ 6pm / Council Activity Center

Friday, February 27, 2015: SALE BEGINS!

Monday, April 27, 2015: SALE ENDS - Turn in all money/unsold/undamaged cards to Council by 5pm

On or Before May 15, 2015: Camp Card Commission Checks ready for pick up at the Council Office
