National Youth Leadership Training

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, action-packed, seven day program designed to provide all 13-to 20-year-old youth members of the Boy Scouts of America with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home units and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others. The program is designed to teach Boy Scouts and Venturers practical leadership skills that they can use both within Scouting and in their everyday lives.

The NYLT Course integrates the best of modern leadership theory with the traditional strengths of the Scouting experience.  Through activities, presentations, challenges, discussions, and audio visual support, NYLT participants will be engaged in a unified approach to leadership that will give them the skills and confidence to lead well.  Through a wide range of activities, events, games, and adventures, NYLT participants will work and play together as they put into action the best that Scouting has to offer.

Scouts need to be at least First Class rank and 13 years of age or a Venturer. They also must have completed Introduction to Leaderships Skills for Troops or Crews and have Scoutmaster or Crew Adviser Endorsement to attend course.
