The Order of the Arrow (OA) is often referred to as the National Honor Society of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). For more than 100 years, the society has honored scouts that best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. It uses Native American-styled traditions and ceremonies to bestow recognition on Scouts selected by their peers as best exemplifying the ideals of Scouting.  It is unique by the fact that candidates are selected by members and non-members alike, representing the respect candidates have earned by their peers.

This recognition provides encouragement for others to live these ideals as well.  Arrowmen are known for maintaining camping traditions and spirit, promoting year-round and long term resident camping, and providing cheerful service to others.  OA service, activities, adventures, and training for youth and adults are models of quality leadership development and programming that enrich and help to extend Scouting to America's youth.
